ECE Professor Raj Rajkumar believes that autonomous vehicles will change the face of transportation. And he predicts that this technology will be ready for production in 10 years and available in showrooms a couple years after that. As co-director of the new GM-Carnegie Mellon Autonomous Driving Collaborative Research Lab he's going to work to make that happen.
ECE alumnus John Cohn gave the keynote talk at the 2008 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS '08) held May 18-21 in Seattle, Washington. His keynote, "Kids these days -- How we can inspire the next generation of Engineers and Scientists" highlighted his passionate efforts over the past 15 years to make engineering fun for nearly 50,000 kids.
The Center for Silicon System Implementation (CSSI) at Carnegie Mellon is composed of 18 faculty from the Departments of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science and over 80 graduate students. The center has strong ties to both the national and international semiconductor, design and EDA industrial communities.
Welcome to Electrical and Computer Engineering, a department of the College of Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University.
